OK...so I have a quad 5100i that I love but this year I'm installing all new windows and sealing my skylights and the place will be very air tight. That said, I no longer want to draw air from the room...I want to go OAK.
My setup is interesting. In the middle of the house lives the chimney. Directly under the chimney is a 12x6 concrete block room. Weird, but true...it is used to support the chimney (which is 30 feet high). This little block room has no door or entry other than an ash cleanout (which makes zero sense).
So this is my thought. Can I Drill down from the firebox and pipe into this concrete room using the Oak? Then drill another 4" hole somewhere else into this room, and plumb it to the outside?
See the picture I drew.
