Anyone have rusty Exhaust Blower sheet metal screws in their pellet stove?

Hello

This Quadrafire Santa Fe sure has rusty mounting screws on the exhaust blower!

There are 6 very light number 8 sheet metal screws 1/2 inch long fine threads.

I picked up some heavy Stainless Steel #8 1/2 inch long with black painted heads to replace.

The threads are not as fine but they hold in well.

Also when I pulled out the room blower and saw the rusty bottom, I sanded it with emery cloth and painted Stove Bright Satin Black on the bottom. :)

you think its caused from condensation maybe?

Yes, It was used in a basement that had some dampness close to the floor for a few years.
How are your exhaust blower screws?
 
well i havent looked recently... last year they didnt look rusty tho when they came out for a cleaning, fire brick ones were rusty looking tho, changed them

That's Good! I am Lucky on the Astoria. No firebrick bolts jus clips. The Santa Fe has tabs no bolts either!
