I can't answer the difference question and suspect there might not be any, however smwilliamson you need to correct your statement about them being all oak, according to their website they are a hardwood mix.
I have burned the Northern and Cubex branded Lauzon and I could not tell the difference. They may not be 100% Oak. But there mostly Oak. Great pellet IMHO and I bought some for this seasons cold spell!

I the truck driver likes your local pellet dealer he will tell them what type of wood the current pellets are made from. So far all we have received is Oak and Hard Maple as far as I know. We keep the Oak to one side because it seems to have a bit less ash and try to give people some with there orders. $249 is not bad. We have pick up at $225.
