Ash to ash

Had 2 scrounge potential today. Last nights 36" maple rounds, or huge pin oak. Conditions weren't favorable for the oak, that's put off for two weeks. Maple, pending. Went to an older co workers house, wanted to drop 2 standing dead ash trees. The wife a friend and I felled 1, although it was a bit tricky, saving the second for another time. Ended up with 2 truck loads, seen below. No action shots as it was a long day. There was new growth all over the base if the tree, and the trunk was really 3 trunks very close together. Got it felled, bucked and loaded safely, and had pizza on the grill, so was a good day.

    Sorry, pictures aren't the best!

Nice catch you got there. I gotta think of every wood score like depositing a few bucks more into the ol' fashioned savings account. Before ya know it, you have quite a stash. And with more in the pipeline -- oh what a good thing that is. Good job!
