Instead of batteries, why not get a generator for when the power goes out?

Our whole house, you wouldn't need as big, has both stoves wired in so when power goes out the stoves stay up and running.

The disadvantage of using a portable generator is this : If power goes out in the middle of the night, you have to somehow wake-up and become aware of the outage, get up, put some clothes on, fetch the genny, put it outside in the cold of the night, plug it, start it, toggle the transfer switch, restart the stove, then hopefuly go back to sleep.

An automated battery backup will get you thru the night, then you can manage the genny in plain daytime, if the outage has not ended.

An automatic standby generator is an option, if you have the money.

The emergency lights on each floor come on and wake me up anyway. ;lol

Generators can be loud. The battery system will allow you to turn off the generator to sleep at night and still keep warm.
