I am looking at 2 enviro inserts. The ef3bi or the meridian. The first says 40,000 btu the second says 45,000. Is there a big difference. Also they dont say the come with a thermostat. Do they just run all the time?

You can put a thermostat on the Meridian and run it in on/off or hi/lo mode. I believe the EF3 can have a thermostat but it is strictly hi/low. 5k btu's is 5k btu's. I'd start by figuring out how many btu you need to heat the area you want to heat.
