BTU stove temp question

If you are running your stove in stove temp on 6 in a family room. It's about minus ten outside.,,,,,my question is if the room becomes almost too warm to sit in at this temp obviously have to scale it back so how many btus am I using?

Have the p43 and was contemplating a p61 but if I will never run this at max what would be the point of the 61
 
You are exactly right. Since you have not maxed out the 43 at 6 you might be running the 61 at 3 or 4 in stove mode. You would be using the same btu's on both stoves. One is just working a little harder than the other.
