Just scrounged some fresh cut so I will not attempt to burn it this year. From online research it states it is in the hardwood range. Has anyone burned any and what were your thoughts?

My Dad burns carob wood. It's pretty hard wood, but not very straight grained. He thinks it does a good job. I know it makes tasty smoke for the barbecue smoker too.

You aren't kidding. I ended up making 4 inch thick 'disks' as the pieces I scrounged looked like pulled twisted taffy.

Can't wait for next year to try some out.
