ok, so just today I installed a heat shield behind my old garrison double door woodburning stove..
I'm on my first run since installing it, and I swear it seems like the heat output dropped.

The shield is 24ga , and sits approx 5 " behind the draft knobs.
Is it possible I affected some part of the physics of the thing?
I know I affected something , of course: but a noticeable drop in heat output?

I spose I need to give it a little more time maybe.
It's a direct connect flue, and I'm burning hardwood.

Thanks lads,
Rich

ya know, I think I found the issue: forgot that the wood im burning tinite, came from the bottom of the pile: a little more wet than the rest.
it seems to be dong well now.

sorry for the false alarm
