can I burn wood with nails in a catalytic stove?

I find it's easier to just let the ash buildup until it won't fit a good amount of wood and then clean out. The ash makes for a better fire IMO.

The stove my folks have, when I would clean it (2-3 times a winter) would hold about 4 5 gal pails full of ash.

We had exactly one of those last year. I found this to be much more effective than the ash pan in the ultra every couple weeks. I wish they had put an oven in the pedestal.
