The attached pictures are the sugar maple that was left in the woods for a year on end that I brought out last week, except for the middle all the wood was good.



These are the first rounds I split today.

I would say it was down since the micro burst of June 2008, so it was still pretty good.

Well Zap, the heart is shot but the rest don't look too bad. For sure soft maple would have never made it that long.
