My current chimney is an outside brick with clay flue. It runs from basement floor to the top of the roof. On the first floor there is a woodstove we use regularly. In the basement is another access to the same flue that we keep stuffed with insulation. My question is can I add a second wood burner to the basement on the same flue and burn both stoves at the same time??

1 appliance for each flu pipe per code... We had two stoves burning in one most of my life when I was a kid. Had two chimney fires in 18 years... that we knew about ;)
