OK, so we have successfully installed a Buck Stove Townsend III. Heats the house exceptionally well. However, because the top of the stove is covered by grill style grates, it does not reall get hot enough for cooking. Any ideas for solutions for this? We wanted to be able to cook in the case of power outages, etc...

Thanks,

John

Hope you get a chance to take some nice pictures of the stove and post them here. We don't hear a lot about this stove. It appears to be a nice unit, so please keep us posted on how it's doing.

For cooking, can you pop out the top grate or is it fixed in place?
