A friend of mine is looking for a flange to go on 7 3/4" od (6" double wall) stove pipe, where it will pass through
a dropped ceiling. Anyone know where to find such an animal ?

Most of the manufacturers of HT Pipe sell large black trim rings which go with their chimney systems - the same ones that are used when a roof support is used (one that clamps around the pipe) and the ceiling ring is then just decorative.

These are painted black. You could also use a FS spacer (square) and paint it black also. Mounting should be done with the fact that mineral board cannot hold up much - like use very large washers or spring wings on the top of the panel, etc.

Note - maintain clearances - and more. Might as well cut the ceiling tile back 3" from pipe on all sides because the rings are most than big enough.
