I agree, I have found some E-how articles to be quite inaccurate.
 
"A stick or something." WTF is a "stick" going to come from?

"If the motor turns but the gears don't engage, you need a new motor." Really?

All pretty useless advice, in any event.

X2, I had to replace two auger motors in an Englander pellet stove. The motor turn and the shaft turned but the gears were worn and the motor would stick and stop. Those instructions are useless!
 
I have found ehow to be pretty useless and not informative. Waste of electrons, IMO.
