    phil,

    I have an EF-2 FS

    Basically the same stove I think. (correct me if wrong)

    If I measure from the sheet metal side wall to the end of the black knob....

    In= 2-1/4"
    Out=4"

    I usually run the stove with it pulled out to about 2-1/2"

    But I adjust it based on the fire.
