Here is the deal ------------ flow rate in a gravity system is based on. Pipe size and TD. Example - big pipe and dump zone out side say at 0F OSA and 200F boiler water. It will move threw there at a very high rate conversely using a small pipe and dumping it in to an already over heated basement, not a ton of flow -- The good news is the last example may be enough to keep the beast in check.
