I'm thinking of changing my potential chimney set up from thru wall to thru roof. It involves changing a closet upstairs but it would look a lot better on outside.
The way I read it, if I put a stove pipe shield on the single wall pipe from stove to ceiling this would allow me to bring the stove to the min of 10" from back wall and pipe would be approx 12" from wall (still within the 18 minus 66% rule). I would rather not use double wall pipe. It would actually increase the 10" dim for the stove.
Do my figures make sense?
Thanks
