The whitfield needs the fire back.

Now for very little $$$$$ you can if you carefully remove the fireback, repair it with furnace cement.

This comes in small containers and can be had from the hardware store.

Clean the old fireback up well and get all the loose ash and soot off the thing.

Start layering in the fire cement a little at a time and let it harden. Build the fireback up until it is back to the original thickness and your good to go.

A small canister of this stuff is about $5 and should be enough to repair your center fireback.

I have done a few of these and the Furnace cement works great.

The stuff is black but unless you are real fussy this is far better than the cost $$$$$$$$$$$$ of a new fireback set.
