Hi,
I have a 15 year old RSF Opel 2000C fireplace insert where what looks like asbestos roping (insulation gasket?) is falling off the doors. Thus, my firewood burns too hot and fast due to too much airflow. This insulation must have been glued on but the glue has evaporated/cooked off after 15 years. My question is: how do I fix this? What kind of glue should I use? Where can I get it, and the asbestos roping? Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks

take it to any stove dealer and they should be able to replace it. It can be glued on with furnace cement or RTV silicone.
