Hi folks - purchased some firewood today from a gentleman saying it was various types of hickory. I’m god awful at identifying firewood so just seeing what y’all think. Thanks!

Possible hickory, it is not Ash, bark does not look like Ash. It does display the stringy fibers in the splits typical of Hickory and Elm
 
Some looks like hickory. Shave off a piece and burn it, you'll know if it's hickory it will smell like a barbecue joint and drive your neighbors wild.

It does have the stringy fibers typical of hickory. Not ash.
