Went well. Disassembled and cleaned everything
since I had run a ton through it so far this year.
Living room looked like a bomb went off and I had
black hands and arms right up to my elbows so
didn't dare touch my camera until I washed up.
It's too warm outside here now and supposed to
be in the 50's tomorrow so leaving it off until
tomorrow evening. Running the furnace for tonight.

Nice job Xena....stove looks ready to do some serious burning.

Before the next cleaning, buy a box of the blue nitrile gloves....perfect for this type of job, or even working on the Jeep or the boat motor.
;-)

The Pats do rule!

What do they rule? Do you remember this...

Nice job xena! Coming up on a ton here with the same stove, so when we come out of this below zero weather( -10 tonight) we will be giving it a complete cleaning! This stove rocks! Still haven't burnt a gallon of propane yet! Love it!!!!

Oh yeah Thundercat I hear ya! This stove is the bomb for sure and
fairly simple to maintain.

And for the record, I removed then scraped/vac'd the blowers, brushed
out and vac'd the entire exhaust vent,
brushed down the heat exchange tubes, vac'd out the inside and
dumped the ash pan of course. Rutland stove glass cleaner on the glass
and exterior to clean up my sooty fingerprints all over the exterior.

Pete yeah I have the gloves in the garage but I don't like wearing them
when I work on stuff for extended periods of time because my hands
sweat and shrivel like raisins and it gets uncomfortable so I'd rather
just have a large jug of Gojo orange pumice cleaner on hand.

Hello Xena

I have 2 posts for the yearly cleaning. The 2 big items are the blowers. There are alot of pics and info in the links below:

Did you clean both blowers Xena? Lubricate with 3in1 oil and spray blades with Graphite Spray?
What else did you clean?
Flue pipe??

Hello Don and
thanks.gif
for those links
and welcome to the forum as I see you're fairly new around here.
Yup I cleaned everything. (See my post #5 above)
Been maintaining my stove since I bought it new in Oct 2005
so not a greenhorn when it comes to what needs to be done but I'm certain your
links are most helpful to the newbs out here.
