floor protection

Hi !
Can someone explain to me the clearance in Canada, What is the fireside ?
I am installing the stove on laminate flooring, and am either going to buy or build a stove pad.
and trying to determine the min. size i can use.
I had planned on 6" to sides, and 6" out front.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
ps. stove will be a piazzetta monia.

Thank you for the quick reply, that makes sense. So the "D" dimension in Canada needs to be almost 18". ( not 6" )

You are on the East Coast right

yes exactly what the manual states. If you downloaded your manual as stoves can vary. My stove only requires 1" between the back and wall
