Doea anyone use foil tape to seal the snap lock joints on the chimney pipe?

I have a problem of halfway thru the winter it loses it adhesiveness and falls off.

Can you tell me what you use?

I`m using the inexpensive Nashua brand #322 from Home Despot . I use it close to the stove and on all pipe sections.
It maintains it`s grip nicely yet peels off cleanly (with some effort) .

Nashua 324A Cold Weather Premium Foil Tape it stays on in cold weather. You can get it at Home Depot aprox $25

My chimney guy reccomended I use hi temp silicone, is this no good??

I used the high temp silicone on my pipe with no issues. Was in the Simpson manual for my pipe to do so. I used the aluminum tape on the tee and anyplace I had to remove the pipes often. Just easier to remove than silicone.
