Supposedly the study which the CPSC referred to when it floated its gas stove ban was done by the Rocky Mountain Institute, RMI, which is a group looking to stop use of all fossil fuels. And they have close ties, and are possibly funded in part by tue Chinese govt.
True or not?
And why can’t we have a media which actually looks into details so we can be informed?
All right wing sites reporting this. Crickets from the MSM.
Why?
Why didn’t every news story report who funded the study in the initial reporting? And zero follow up.
Keep the sheep stupid. This isn’t R vs D.

Why? Because there is a habit of throwing chit against the wall, true or not, just to see if it sticks. Even if it doesn't stick it sows the seeds of doubt. Some people just love to stir up the pot instead of actually doing something to address climate change. The oil & gas companies help those rumors along. MSM no doubt is still too busy trying to locate space lasers and pizza baby-swapping rings. It should be noted that the CPSC did not say it was acting to ban gas stoves, just that it is studying it, as well as many other options. FWIW. locally there is already a ban on natural gas in new construction being considered. As the planet warms up, I expect to see more of this.

What is dismaying is that this is the focus and not the fact that the US military is the world's largest consumer of oil. It causes more greenhouse gas emissions than 140 nations combined.
Some background information:
Not a peep about these emissions

The RMI study is new and getting press. The effect of non-vented gas appliances on indoor air quality has been a known fact for decades. Funding sources aside, it’s know fact combustion byproducts are bad for one’s health. One can question methods used to arrive as a statistical quantification of those impacts, or primary or secondary funding for the studies but it’s not changing the facts. Combustion byproducts are bad for your health.

The CNN article above goes into the latest studies on the effect of gas stoves on indoor air quality. RMI is funded by grants (MacArthur Foundation) and donations. They are very upfront about helping other nations by providing technical assistance as they work to achieve a Zero Carbon economy. The China program is just one of many pathways they work on to reach this goal. They also have an India program in addition to their US program. Starting with the biggest carbon emitters is a sound strategy.

RMI has a chicom on their board. Why would the Chinese, the world’s biggest emitters of carbon and pollution, care and finance a study that wants to regulate our products? Wouldn’t shutting down and stopping the building of coal plants have a immediate affect saving huge numbers of lives. Don’t buy for a second they care about poor asthmatic children in America. This all started when a chairman with cpsc outright stated that these products can be banned if emissions cannot be regulated. Any burning of inside air leaves emissions, including our wood stoves. And there is plenty of debate about the actual danger, which likely is minimal with simple ventilation. The timing, source, funding of the issue is suspect. And our groveling msm as usual regurgitates the press relief with no real attempt at presenting both sides. With the immediate back track when their trial ballon gets a bad response.
Whole thing stinks like the pile in crap it is.

Yeah, they have someone from India and Sierra Leone on their board too. And OMG they have an ex-Shell Oil CFO on board. It's called diversity and it's what makes for a strong board. They are advising on an international basis.

The dog-whistling crowd loves this stuff. Vance out of Ohio is trying to tie it to national security. Politics, plain and simple. Take the xenophobic discussion to a political forum.
