First time changing the tail pipe gasket and the burn pot gasket. Do I need gasket glue when changing them?

I never used any on mine, would be a mess next time you change it out.

Don't use glue. As Tsnith said, it will be a mess next time. Usually the only gasket that gets held on by glue is the door gasket.
