The fan enclosure slides out as one assembly with no tools needed. Pull it out and see what's going on in there. You can plug in the power and run the fan on MAN.
 
Sounds like it may be running out of balance. A common cause of this is dust build up. Take out and give it a thorough cleaning of every blade.
 
Thanks, folks- more than likely the dust build-up on the fan blades is the cause as I have never cleaned them.
I'll give it a whirl!
