I need to replace the Gasket of the HE Doors in Vermont Casting Radiance.

I have gaskets and the special cement

I assume that the gasket is bottom is cemented to the stove.

What about the top of the gasket is it cemented to the flip HE Door or the door just sit on it as is.

TIA

Jack

HE stands for Heath Exchange.

It is metal Flips on one side hinge that can open and close to control Heat Output of Gas Stoves,

To ensure their operation they sit on Heath resistance Gaskets (the black lines point to the HE Doors)

These doors have under them a Gasket that has to be glued to its position.

Here is a page for the Gaskets -

Only one side - top OR bottom gets adhesive. The gaskets seal those doors & act as blow off ports
or pressure-relief ports in case there is too much gas inside the firebox at ignition.
Without them, the gas pressure will blow the glass out, as that's the weakest spot in the firebox.
