Is there any way to control the air flow in the box on this? There is no damper in the chimney pipe and I am not sure how to adjust the air flow.

Well, it's complicated: the more you unscrew the draft control wheels, the MORE air there is for the fire and it burns hotter. As you screw them in, there is LESS air for the fire and it burns less hot.
