There are sticky notes in one of the forums explaining how to post a picture/image.
The brackets are coding (CSS I believe) for doing various things, i.e. (no periods) [.b]blah blah blah[./b] would make bold lettering; [.i]blah blah blah[./i], would make italicized lettering; [.u]blah blah blah[/u], would make underlined lettering; [.img]no fires[./img] inserts an image's url
