How hot can a rug get?

The wood floor looks great and safe. I pulled up all the carpet in the stove room and refinished the oak floors. It is much easier to clean. We just sweep up the wood chips and ash with a broom and dust pan. We also put away the white area rugs in winter so no soot gets on them.
