Every since my Grandad put an insert in his huge masonry fireplace I have always swore I'd have one. I just purchased a new home and it is has a leaky, drafty Desa B42 fireplace that I have burnt a cord of wood through. I suppose it is a zero clear? The recomendations are 0" floor 0" top spacer, here is a link to the owners manual. I am looking at inserts particularly the Model 02. Any info would be helpful. Here is a link to the insert. Are there any special concerns? Could I go with something larger? My house is about 3,000 sqft. high ceilings, with a money sucking heat pump!!
