Hi

Just worked on an approx year and a half old Englander 25-PDVC that did not light at all without a match and gel! I cleaned out the hole from the air inlet tube to the ignitor tube and removed the cap to the drill hole on top of the ignitor tube and the stove lit in 4 minutes!

Ya, prob closer to 30. Ill give MAPP gas a shot. I've tried a bunch of different torch flame angles, burnpot pellet "configurations" and a few different pellet brands and I can't get much under 30 seconds. The pellets ignite from the torch in short time, but to get them to STAY lit, I gotta give em more heat. Took a while to convert but sure beats messing around with gel.

I use the map gas with the Whitfield. Works like a charm.

4:32 to ignition, 6:02 to blower.

OK Update, I un leveled the stove slightly to the right,,,,,,,,,, got a 7 minute burn today, but I did not clean the burn pot, could be skewing the results........

I think a lot of it depends on the brand of the stove, the pellet, and the ignitor position. My Quad Castile insert normally takes about 1 1/2 minutes to ignite, and approx 10 minutes for the blower to kick in.... somewhat longer on very cold nights...

So I just replaced my igniter and my stove goes from cold to flame in seven minutes.

Just seeing how other stoves match up.

PS....Room blower comes on at 13 min

Is the new igniter the same part number as the old one or is it an after market? The wattage out put might be different than the old one.

Its a stock replacement....300watt

The online version of your manual doesn't show much about the igniter's position in relation to the burn pot. It looks like it might be about the same as my VF-100. If that's the case, then you want as much contact with the burnpot and the igniter as possible. The fist time I swapped out my igniter I had the same problem. I was one of the fortunate few to get a tech specialist on the phone at Sherwood Industries. He gave me the tip about the igniter to burn pot contact and it solved my problem.

Englander PAH- 6 min, 30 sec from off to flame, room blower at 17 minutes.
