http://www.masssave.com/ Had them come out after member ihatepropane had it done.

they come out replace every light bulb in your home with energy efficient light bulbs suppose to last 7 years FREE ( 400$ value in my case )
Then they inspect your home look in the attic to see if you need more insulation
In my case i have R30 they suggested adding 4" of blown in to 2900 sqft
Price was about 1500 they pay 75% my cost will be 400 if i want to do it ( i most likely will i dont think i can buy it for that )
Then they offer to send a contractor to airseal your home caulking etc FREE

I was expecting some high pressure salesman, but not the case at all he laid it out and said send in the paper work if interested.

+1 one that program. I had them come out a few years ago and do a complete air seal and add insulation to the walls and add to the attic that I did not gut during home renovations. These guys found holes and voids that I was not aware of in the basement ceiling to the first floor. They did a blower door test and a combustion test on my boiler before and after the work. The subcontractor that did the work was great and cleaned up when finished. The work did make a noticable difference in air movement in the house.

The icing on the cake was a refund check they sent me since they charged me for the sq footage of insulation I already had in place instead of what they added. The final inspector re-measured the work and called back and apologized after the numbers did not add up. The program did cover about 75% of the cost of the work.

I also took advantage of the program. At the time, they gave a $2,000 credit for any approved work. I had additional insulation blown in the attic, sealing of the attic stairs, plastic placed on the dirt floor of my two crawl spaces under additions to the house, complete air seal, blower door test, and more which together cost $3,000. I paid $1,000 but could have eliminated a few items so my costs would have been less. You can also apply for a zero percent loan to replace your heating system if needed . But we don't need to because we burn pellets! :ZZZ
