I started buy finding a used boiler on CL it was lightly used it looked new.It is a ldj solid fuel 100k btu boiler.I searched the Web for the best prices on pumps and other parts I needed I also bought used when I could.Converted my cast iron rads to water with valves from hydronic alternatives I use a alfa running 24/7 this gives me hot water at the rads all the time this allows the rads to modulate.I also run a taco 24/7 for my primary loop this system is simple and anyone can do it I also changed out the boiler control for a hydroleval with out door rest I can run it at 130 deg with no problems as my return water is always warm. Some pics
