Last night around 8:00 I put 4 splits into the Fireview. Far from a full load. But our overnight low was 32 with some snow, sleet and then rain. It continued mostly as rain well after daylight. But when I got up the house was nice and warm so I did not put wood in the stove. Then I got busy and just forgot about it until around 3:30 this afternoon. Wife had some laundry she wanted to dry partially by the stove so I lit a fire. Still plenty of coals in the stove so that was pretty easy. Put 3 splits in and it is now hot in here! Present temperature is 36 and that has been the high for the day. It is getting foggy out there now.

So heating for over 19 hours with only 4 splits ain't bad. I wonder how long these 3 splits will last. Whew. It's hot in here.

    Nothing wrong with that!

When you upgrade to the Progress Hybrid, I think you and the Mrs. will need to upgrade your window shades also since you'll be running around that place in the buff it'll be so hot!

Dennis you are going to have to turn the A/C on tomorrow! It was fun driving in that this morning to Howell for a 10hr class. Then at class I got a surprise that I get to do it again tomorrow as Federal Gov limits the the class to no more than 7.5 hrs a day. So its out and back for a 1/2 day.

Billy, that is one reason I don't like those type of classes.

Zap, I promise to change my ways.

jrendfrey, that is a lot of snow for a week. We've had that before and it is not all fun for sure. We are supposed to get a bit of snow tonight but most will go north of us. Then we are expecting some cold air for a couple days followed by a nice warmup. Maybe into the 50's by mid week next week.

Same here Dennis, Fires in the evening have been all I have needed. Today, high of 60, tornado warnings, low of 27 tonight. Weird weather. Harrisburg, IL, hit terribly by a tornado yesterday, and Heneryville and Maryville IN today. Harrisburg and their hospital that was hit, is where I first was taken after my accident last June. Really feel bad for all those people. Looks like it is going to be a bad spring.

Everytime I read one of his "its 80 in here on only 2 little misely splits" posts I'm thinkin the same. I want to see a pick of this house that can be heated with a single match.

Well, we did put an addition on last summer. Sadly we did not have any real cold weather to test all the improvements. fwiw, the Progress is still on hold. Not sure we are going to be able to use that beast. I hate heating the outdoors and prefer to keep windows and doors closed in winter.

Would it be best if I opened a wall or two and the ceiling so you could view the insulation? No thanks. I think you know what that stuff looks like. And there have been times we've had to use two matches.

Yeah in six years I have never deleted a pic in this place. One of Dennis in that would be the first. :coolsmirk:

Of course I would save a copy in case he later decided to run for public office.
