Oil or Propane for backup heating

I'd think if you were going to spend all the $$$$$ on a pellet conversion you'd just use the pellets. Seems like alot of cash for just a backup.. IMHO a backup is something that is self sufficient for a certain lenght of time and is cheap to install as it's just a backup, not the primary heat source. Thats why I went electric with my backup, but it's not used, only there for the homeowners insurance to be happy.

A backup heat source should be one that dont need electricity(unless you have a generator on standby) in case of a power outage.
