What's right? Looks like a disaster in the making.

Needs a paint job.

And the picture on the right has a lawnmower beside it. I don't think it's legal to store a source of vapors that close to an ugly stove next to ugly paneling.

As long as it is non combustible paneling, it should be fine. The lawn mower should be stored elsewhere though. That looks just like my old stove.

This is Sister Mary Elephants class, right?

Unlisted UL stove needs 36" clearance to a combustable. We have a good 6" here.

The lawn mower is a new eco friendly version made of Day-Glo plastic.

I was told the stove was not used in 9 yrs. THANK GOD! I bet the date stamp on the back of the paneling is around the same time frame.

I specifically asked you not to show anybody those pictures of my stove.

That's not paneling, that's his woodpile.

The one in the garage looks better. The barrel is painted chartreuse.

Now we're talkin real stove porn.

I agree........the clearance to the wall is not sufficient (I'm of the belief that this is not a new EPA-Rated stove, and that's NOT double-wall flue pipe. The rust I think I see, would be a problem......and the pipe looks like it is not level.
Did I miss anything?

Well, they're blurry. The stove, not knowing any better, has damn near charred the paneling while burning. I think the stove is fine.
But, I also think the person(s) who did the install should be fined for lack of common sense and intelligence. Or, am I not seeing something here? Did they not think the stove would get HOT? :ahhh:
FBF, non-combustible paneling........ ;-P
Claaaayas,.....WAKE UP!!

I get it, its a trick question. Everything in the room is constructed of asbestos. With the correct Haz-Mat suit it will be fine

That paneling brought back memories. When we bought the house that we are in now, there was actually paneling that looked just like that glued to the chimney. :bug: That was one of the first things to come down once we cleaned our way to the chimney. And yes, they people who lived here before us used the chimney with the paneling on it.
