Had a very interesting conversation at Skowhegan Maine Aubuchon's this morning, as the salesman showed us the Dansons Pelpro 120. He says he's run the same model in his home for three years. I did like that he seemed he knew what he was talking about.

Anyone else run one of these? Have any problems with it? Is is noisy? He made it seem as if it was simple to keep maintained -- do you think so too?

Never mind. Went with a Napoleon NPS40, with additional gold trim and hopper extension.

As of 7/19/08, they have many more on order. I'm expecting delivery mid-August.

I am across the river from you. Why did you go with one compared to the other? How do they compare price wise?
    Thanks!

Kennebec: The price was much higher for the Napoleon, but we liked the design a lot better. We bought into the salesman argument that they'd be well stocked by the factory. Well here it is at end of September, and we're still on the waiting list. We'll be rethinking this whole deal this weekend. I only have 100 gallons of #2, and didn't want to buy any more this year.

Sorry to hear you bought the line about being "well stocked"....I'm beginning to think that a lot of stove dealers are about as trustworthy as a used car saleman. Sounds like it's time to expand your search area and try to find someone that actually has a stove in stock, and maybe be less worried about looks.

BTW, I have seen many stoves listed on Craig's list in my area.....might be worth a shot.
