Yup.

Software doesn't know whether or not the igniter is functioning. It is looking for thermistor heat response to determine if ignition was successful.

You do not need to unplug the igniter.

Make sure you have some of the round small white gasket to put at the back of the burn pot sleeve to seal in any air leakage in order for the igniter to focus all the heat in the burn pot.
