Shopping around for my first fireplace insert, I found the PE Pacific to be the best deal from several local dealers. When I check the web page, it doesn't have any information on this insert. BUT, there's a PE Super insert with all the same specs.

Has the PE Pacific been discontinued and then made the Super line? I don't want to get an old new insert.
If so, how long ago and is there any difference?

Thanks!

The PE Pacfic insert was old or 2008 model with one fan. The PE Super insert is the 2009 model with dual fans. Other than the fan changes, the two have the same firebox designs but different cosmetic changes. Also, the Super has an angle cut into the rear box to make it easier to fit into a tight fireplace opening.
If you buy a super be aware that the early ones had a bad batch of fans (working with my dealer on mine).
