Question:
Looking to purchase a wood stove for a new home in south Louisiana- approx. 1700 _s.f. with some vaulted ceilings. Which is better- cast iron or steel? catalytic or _non-catalytic? Cord wood or pellets? _Thank you.
Answer:
Pellets don't grow on trees and the stoves do take some electric to run. A wood stove is simple and reliable as long as you don' mind fiddling with the wood. A non-cat would probably require less fuss and will work well for you in that southern climate.
<p>Note: A cat stove will burn longer on a load of wood, and also may be able to be turned lower.
