Just filled up the tub with apple wood. I rarely burn all-apple, but a day like today -20c with -32 wind chill...its just like burning coal.
That big log in front, with the knot in it I can barely lift with one hand. Getting in the stove, VC toploader will be just possible if I let the ember bed get a bit low.
We are warm and toasty in this 90 year old, drafty converted summer cottage of a house.
