Thats a great idea. Thanks for posting those pics.

Sure would be nice to have a sticky with pics of various types of wood just like your showing. Sure would make life easy. I like how you show the bark and the grain of a split.

Anybody got some pics of hickory? I just hit the motherload-got permission to "take as much as you want". Pretty sure it's hickory, just can't tell with all the leaves off. KD

Thanks. They're not the greatest quality pics, but maybe somebody will find them useful. Can't help you with the hickory. Not sure I've ever seen it myself!
