So does everyone here who says pay retail price for the stove, pay the full sticker price for new vehicle?

When I am spec'ing the vehicle to my exact preferences which means it is not on the lot, yes

How about buying a home.

Around here you get outbid if you offer asking price on homes.

I consider myself a smart shopper, saving $5 is not worth my time or GAS

I watch prices at my supermarket, and I save at least $10 twice a week which adds up to over a $1000 savings each year, so do sweat the small stuff. You don't negotiate, you look for what is on sale.

You can haggle over what is on the lot, but a special order is going to cost you. Just remember that while you are haggling, the price of fuel is going up! When I knew what I wanted, I bought it. I knew that I would have to live with what I picked, so I made sure it was exactly what I wanted and stopped looking back. I'm not exactly the most decisive guy out there, but I probably recouped in fuel savings in a month what I would have saved if I shopped around. I'm not planning on buying a new stove every other year like some car buyers I know.

Resistance is futile; buy the stove and join us! You will be assimilated!
