I looked at an Avalon Olympic today, and the metal plenum/ air intake part between the fire bricks at the back of the stove, the part that supplies the air tubes with hot air, was loose as if a separate piece. Is this normal? To me it seems like it was broken. It was also warped. Not cracked though. I have an Avalon rainier and it is definitely firmly attached. I passed on the stove because of this but maybe it is ok if it is supposed to be like that?

Nevermind, I found my answer. It is not the actual air supply but a cover for it, since I found they sell replacements. But it is supposed to be welded in - it is broken as I suspected.
