Is there any problem having a recessed hearth? I have a concrete floor with a sub floor over it so i cut out the sub floor so the stove will sit on concrete so i won't have to build a hearth. Its about 3 inches deep and i was going to put stone tile in there and along the edge to make it look purty. Are there any requirements that it be raised??

For that little bit, so long as you maintain all clearance to combustibles as stated, I do not believe there is an issue.
