So, I've run Huskies since the beginning. I've toyed with just giving a used Stihl a try. Can anyone recommend a model in the 50-70 cc range that would be a good used saw buy?

I would recommend a MS260 or MS261, if in good condition.

Lots of good choices. In the smaller end a 260 is good quality saw. 361 in the mid range. Good saw, better anti-vibe than the 036/360. 440 on the big end is a legend. I've read that the 441CM is a great saw but not likely to find one used, it's new. This is the m-tronic version, not the regular 441. I own a 260, 361 and 460. I probably grab the 260 the most because it's the lightest and is good enough for 80% of what I cut. If I could only own one of the 3 I have I guess I'd go 361 but I think a ported 440 might be the way I'd go if I could really only own one.

That's a very kind gesture. But that may cost me my job.<>

    026/260
    034/036/360/361/362
    044/440/441
    046/460

I just bought a 460 today... Cant begin to tell you the smile it brings to my face..

I also own an 036. Its a fantastic saw too...

Every saw noted above is a good one. Whats your budget? ?

If it's light grey and orange and says STIHL on it, buy it......;) I run vintage Stihls, and I love them like family. I have lots of saws, some in various stages of life and death, but I regularly run my old Stihl 72cc 041 AV Super. Lots of good power and torque, will run a 30 inch bar all day long, but it has no brake and it is heavier than the new ones. I will own a 460 or a 660 someday, my one buddy has both of those models and like Dexterday said, they will make you giggle when you run them ==c. The 026 is pretty much the same as an MS260, if the one you are checking out is in good shape go for it.

$200 bucks today, maybe $350 by the end of the summer. But a smokin' deal is just that and is what makes the purchase worthwhile. If I'm at the right place at the right time therein lies the thrill.
