Hello, what do you guys recommend being used to reduce clearances above a plenum and the floor joists on a wood furnace? I talked to the furnance manufacturer and they said i can cut the plenum a little; but i will still need to reduce clearances. I've seen some people on the net use like a hardy backerboard with a non-conducting spacer between the board and the joists. i've seen a post on here before with it done, but i cannot find it now.. and help is greatly appreciated!

thanks, Jeff
