Not hard to image anything more efficient than selling BC pellets in the NE while sitting int AZ to me.
He reminds me of listening to a realtor telling people that home prices are holding steady...
I said nothing of the kind Mascoma....what I said was the mill at $150 retail in CT isn't making any money if in fact they are bringing it from 1400+ miles away. OR there is some other reason for the low price and I didn't believe this was a company wide price....that is what was said or implied.
With modern communications today, it really doesn't make a hill of beans difference where I sell from and like the box stores we have figured out how to move product long distances effectively, but there is still heavy costs involved...You may not want the mill to make any money and sell for well below cost, but that can only happen for so long before a company goes BK doing that...and no you can't make it up with volume.....just trying to educate people on how this industry really works....
Gio said:Too bad I can`t ever get in on any of this bargain stuff. The best I`ve done in 3 yrs was in June when I had 3 tons of Ligs delivered to me at $259 per. Personally, I was elated. I had been paying $300-315 per from the local lumberyards and the other places haven`t been much better.
